Fine motor skills

Every day in a kid’s life there are new discoveries and impressions, new steps in improving his abilities. Through simple games with building blocks, such as building LEGO bricks, children discreetly develop hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. In addition, already at the age of 1.5–2 years, they develop a craving for creative activity and it’s a great way to satisfy it. First, the baby will repeat after mom and dad, and then – independently come up with designs. However, at first, the child can cheerfully destroy the towers you’ve built and scatter the cubes. But do not be upset and don’t scold him. He only stydies his capabilities, learns to control his movements and “experiments” with all the objects around him – this is an important and necessary stage of his acquaintance with the world.

Discoveries

Constructors are a good way to tell your kid about the features of objects and new phenomena for him. You can use concepts of “faster” and “slower”, teach him colors and explain how cars work and why they need wheels. And then gradually you can start playing role-playing games and come up with small scenes with more toys. Build a house with the little kid and you both choose which floor which toy lives on. With the help of these activities, you will contribute to the development of the baby’s imagination. The main thing is not to prevent him from coming up with new scenarios – even the most impossible ones. “Instead of explaining to the child what is wrong, it is better to ask him why the machine is on the second floor of the house, and not in the garage. Such questions help not only to develop speech, but also the ability to think logically and build chains of cause and effect.

Social skills

Role-playing games are a good way to teach a baby to communicate with people and in the future to calmly and correctly respond to conflict situations. Act out scenes of acquaintance and goodbye, using standard phrases: “hello, what’s your name?”, “Let’s be friends!”. And then show that the animals quarreled because they cannot share, say, a small toy. Ask your child to reconcile them. Let him try to solve the “problem” himself. And you gently guide him and remind him that disputes need to be resolved peacefully, and most importantly – in a friendly way. Having played such games, the child will feel more confident in the company of peers.
