The benefits of salt baths: how to take a bath with salt

After an exhausting, hard day spent in labor, the primitive woman set off to the sea in the hope to catch some fish. But she was so exhausted that she lay down right on the shore in some sandpit, where she fell asleep right away. Waking up a few hours later, she was surprised to find that the sandpit was filled with warm salt water: her head was on top of the dry sand, and her knees were sticking out of the water. It turns out that during sleep there was a tide, her shelter was flooded, and the sun heated the water. Then there was a low tide, but the water remained in the funnel. The woman liked to rest in this place so much that she often began to visit this funnel before low tide, and then asked her man to dig a hole next to the cave. This is the myth of how the first body baths appeared.

In our time, it is simply a sin not to take advantage of the benefits that civilization offers: comfortable baths, a jacuzzi, millions of cosmetics to soften and heal the skin. We are just like millions of years ago, it is incredibly pleasant to dip into a fragrant, relaxing bath after a hard day’s work. And all the problems, stresses and troubles remain somewhere out there, beyond the limits of our consciousness, when we absorb the beneficial effects of water with every cell of our body.

About the benefits of body baths

Most of us are ready to relax in the bath for hours, getting great pleasure. Someone listens to light music, someone reads their favorite books, lying in foamy water. However, it should be noted that staying in water for too long can harm those who suffer from high blood pressure, heart disease, or all sorts of infections. It is not recommended for this category of people to take a bath for more than 15-20 minutes a day.

Typically, there are three temperature settings for the bathroom water. Those who prefer an average temperature of 33-37 degrees are accustomed to complete relaxation and stress relief during bathing. It is better to take such baths before bedtime: you will have a great sleep. It is more advisable to take cold showers (up to 20 degrees) in the morning, as cool water perfectly tones and invigorates the body, helping the body to wake up. Hot baths (up to 40 degrees) are usually taken for colds, if there is no high temperature. But lying in hot water for more than 5 minutes is not recommended in order to avoid overheating the body.
